How to rename speakers in a transcript

AudioScribe separates who said what automatically, labeling voices Speaker A, Speaker B, and so on. Giving them real names makes the transcript far easier to read — and the name applies everywhere at once: every paragraph, the speaker timeline, and exports.

Steps

  1. Open the conversation from your Conversations list.
  2. Click any speaker label in the transcript — for example Speaker B: at the start of a paragraph.
  3. Type the person's name in the Select Speaker panel that opens. If the name doesn't exist yet, click Create to add it.
  4. Choose where to apply it. You'll be asked whether to update just this block or all blocks from that speaker — pick "all" to rename them everywhere in the transcript.
  5. Click Update. Every label flips to the new name, including the speaker timeline on the right.

Tip: Renaming also updates your exports — DOCX, PDF, and subtitle files all use the real names.
