Frequently asked questions

Is it really free?

Yes — converting MP3s up to 5 minutes to SRT is free with no signup. For longer files, AI summaries, and more export options, create a free account.

What is an SRT file, and where can I use it?

SRT (SubRip Subtitle) is a plain-text caption format: numbered cues, each with a start time, end time, and the words spoken. Nearly every editor and platform accepts it — Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, YouTube, and most media players.

Why make an SRT from audio that has no video?

Because the video often comes later. Podcasters caption audiogram clips, musicians time lyrics for lyric videos, and editors import the SRT next to the audio track so the text stays in sync with whatever visuals they add.

Are the subtitle timestamps real?

Yes. Each cue carries genuine start and end times from the AI transcription, so the file drops into an editor or player already in sync with your MP3. Prefer WebVTT? Download the same result as .vtt.

Is my MP3 stored anywhere?

No. Your file is sent for transcription and is not retained on our servers.
